I joined Ryan & Crowley in September 2006, unsure of what responsibilities I would have as a young trainee accountant. In a small practice like this, I hoped that I would learn more and have a more hands on approach when it came to working on accounts and this has certainly proved to be the case.
In the past 18 months, I have forged strong working relationships with many of our clients, and am learning more day by day thanks to the help of senior trainees and management. As a semi-senior trainee, I have control over many smaller jobs, which I take from start to finish. Typically, this involves contacting the client, inputting their accounts information into our system, producing the accounts and finally meeting the client to go through the accounts. In the coming months, I will also be leading the audits to some of our bigger clients which will be another step up in terms of responsibility. 18 months ago, I did not see myself having such responsibility so quickly, but now I feel I am able for it thanks to the excellent guidance and training I have received to date.
In terms of my education, training and all round support, especially at exam time, Ryan & Crowley has been superb. There is a strong work ethic in the firm, but, there is also plenty of "banter" in the office. This all adds to the experience and makes Ryan & Crowley a very enjoyable firm be part of.
